The longest living of Mortals and largest populace upon Lendahnna. Elves vary greatly between the various kinds there are, but one thing remains. They hold magic in their very being, and possess a long history with Lendahnna and the surrounding Planes of Existence.

General Information

Elves are the oldest living ancestry upon Lendahnna. Their very makeup still possesses a unique magic tied to the Planes of Existence they call home. The average elf will live between 700 and 800 years leading them to have a long and storied history and powerful countries of rule. Most stand just under 5 feet in height up to nearing 6 and a half feet. Skin color, hair pigmentation, and eye color vary greatly over the various kinds of Elves and the areas they live.

Origins of Creation

Elves were the ‘first’ of the Mortals to be created by the Gods. Only in question because of their ancestors, the Gith, from which the Elves descended from. Over time and during The War various factions of Elves, or the Gith before them, aligned with various sources of power and even other Planes of Existence. This brought about the various Sub-Ancestries, the descendants warped by long lineages in those Planes of Existence. In the modern times, and even just shortly after The War, most of the Elves returned to Lendahnna in some capacity, if they were not already. Making a majority of their people natives to The Material plane.

Sub-Ancestries

Drow

Drow are the most common of all the Elves upon Lendahnna. These Elves did not leave the plane during The War. Their skin typically can find pigmentation in colors of purples, greys, and cooler colors. This may be darker in the more moderate and warm areas of Lendahnna, which during The War lead to harsh environments requiring the melanin needed to withstand the sun. Now Drow tend to find themselves in the areas of civilization of Lendahnna having long standing history and being native to the more populated areas of the material plane.

High Elves

High Elves are the descendants of the Gith who most strongly aligned with The Upper Planes. Long ago becoming warriors of the Gods and visiting their holy planes. Over time as they shifted in their descendance, they remained blessed with holy magic for their allegiance. Typically graced with similar pigmentation to that of the Humans of a region. High Elves hold position of power within the older Elven kingdoms of Lendahnna, but can still be found the world over in any number of positions or castes. Some may unfortunately develop an ego around their ancestors allegiance to the Gods, or feel they are meant for a higher purpose.

Wood Elves

Wood Elves, or Wode Elves, are descendants of the Eladrin whom aligned with The Fey during The War. Eladrin have cast out their fully elven ancestry and therefore are considered Fey, but Wood Elves are their kin that have made their way back to Lendahnna over the many years. Most frequenting the more remote locations of the world, and the very Wodes from which they get their name. Due to their heritage most Wood Elves have slightly longer ears than that of the other Elves. A Wood Elves skin pigmentation is also similar to that of the Humans of a similar region. They also tend to have more natural markings from the chaotic magic lingering in their bloodlines. They have a strong affinity for the natural world, and their civilizations may be resistant to the influence of outsiders, yet they still reside the world over.

Sea Elves

Sea Elves are the second least common Elf to grace Lendahnna. Most residing in deep underwater societies out in the oceans of the Material Plane. Some also hail from the Plane of Water. These Elves are said to have been descendants of a small clan who made deals with the Djinns during The War. Valiant defenders of the waters they come from, they tend to be a very proud people. While some may venture to travel the plane over. Their skin is typically blue or green in color, and they carry slightly different musculature due to their water bound nature. They also can breathe underwater.

Shadar-kai

Shadar-kai are Elves who aligned with the Shadowfell during The War. Their kind becoming eternally corrupted by the miasma that lingers there. Now they cannot breathe outside of the plane. Most do not reside in Lendahnna at all. Unlike the Eladrin they remain Elves in full and Mortals in nature. Due to their history upon the Shadowfell there is much more to learn about the Shadar-kai that is unknown to those upon the material.

Regions

Elves reside the world over and are the most populace ancestry upon Lendahnna if you combine all the variations upon them. There is not a corner of the plane where it would be out of place to find and Elf, though Sea Elves and Shadar-kai would be more out of place.
