These ancestorial cousins of Goblins and Hobgoblins, Bugbears are not bug or bear. They are longer limbed and fuzzier variants of their relatives. Thought to have been cursed by Hags long ago as greedy Goblins sought more power from the Fey.
General Information
Bugbears typically stand between six and seven feet in height, covered in warmer toned skin and fur. While not all possess a natural strength, they tend to be athletic in build and power. Most taking positions of power among Goblin civilizations, tribes, and clans. With the seldom exception to some mafia organizations in Andurl, Bugbears are primarily native to the areas where Goblins are heavily present.
Origins of Creation
Bugbears are thought to have been descended from cursed Goblins. Long ago during The War, it was rumored the Goblins as a play for power conspired with Hags and Fey. Eventually betraying them and resulting in the cursed Bugbears. Gaining a great deal of physical and mental prowess, the Bugbears did put into question the Hobgoblins power in their societal structure leading to infighting that is still present today.
Regions
Bugbears are present in all the same locations that Goblins can be found. With exception to some criminal families in Andurl and other large civilizations, that is the forests on the south side of the Plains of Progress, the hinterlands in Fersclen, the swamps on Renmorelli’s Hold and the Umalte.
