Seasons
There are 4 seasons in Lendahnna each of which are exactly 90 days making up the 360 days of the year.
Spring
A time of rebirth and growth. Many crops are both planted and raised in this season. Most of the time the first half of the season is tame in terms of weather but rain comes heavily towards the end of Spring.
Summer
Bringing heat further storms to most of the plane. Summer is a time of longer days and much productivity. Festivals and trade thrive during this period. The harvest of crops comes late into the season as things shift away to Autumn.
Autumn
Starting with the harvest and the preparation of animals for hibernation. Autumn is a time of change and the start of decay. Filled with much religious importance across Lendahnna.
Winter
Usually another period of great storms and chill for most of the plane. Winter is harsh and the nights grow long. Though the celebrations towards the end of the year are plentiful for those who have made it through another year.
Lunar Cycles
The moon, Othadus, goes through two cycles every season. Though not exact in timing, they usually fall within a range of a few days of the same time each year. A full moon happens around the 45th and the 90th of every season, and a new moon happens around the 23rd and the 68th of every season.
Weeks
Each week in Lendahnna consists of 9 days. There are then a total of 10 weeks in a season.
Days of the Week
Below are the days of the week in order. Rarely used in common or colloquially. Most Mortals opt to label the calendar and speak on the days by date and season. (Ex. 8th of Spring.) Some of these terms are used in bureaucracy or on the other planes for various importance. The names for the days were named at the end of The War and reflect the sides of battles between The Upper Planes and The Lower Planes. Some of these terms were adopted during the creation of Chess.
Alped
The first day of the week. Named after the foot soldiers of The War that fought on the side of The Upper Planes. Some holidays of holy worship require the holiday to fall on Alped rather than a date, though rarely.
Equesal
The second day of the week. Named after those who partnered with the beasts of The Upper Planes during The War.
Alfinus
The third day of the week. Named after the devote clerics and healers who worked with The Upper Planes during The War. Very regularly considered a day of rest.
Turrisal
The fourth day of the week. Named after some of the highest paladins that garnered favor from The Upper Planes to fight during The War.
Turrisat
The fifth day of the week. Named after some of the highest paladins that garnered favor from The Lower Planes to fight during The War.
Atfinus
The sixth day of the week. Named after the occultic leaders who worked with The Lower Planes during The War. At times considered an auspicious day.
Equesater
The seventh day of the week. Named after the beasts of The Lower Planes that rose up to terrorize Lendahnna during The War.
Atped
The eighth day of the week. Named after the foot soldiers of The War that fought on the side of The Lower Planes. Due to their sloth is regularly considered a day of rest.
Domahnna
The ninth day of the week. Named after the victory of the Gods and The Upper Planes over The Lower Planes. Regularly considered a day of rest and worship.
Week Structure
Most businesses and scheduled practices in more remote parts of Lendahnna follow a practice of the 2,1,4,2 alternating through the week. Two days of work, a singular day of rest, four days of work, and two days of rest. The more industrious and large civilizations have gone away from this over time and just do what works for people and their business. The only regular consistence between locations and culture is that Domahnna is a holy day nearly everywhere.
